School Environmental Safety Incident Report (SESIR)

Prepared by project staff and published annually by the Florida DOE, the Statewide School Environmental Safety Incident Report provides state and individual district information on serious incidents of violence and substance use. The following data is reported:

  1. The timing of incidents (during schools hours, not during school hours)
  2. Persons involved
  3. Location of incident
  4. Rates per 1,000 for all 22 SESIR incident types
  5. Trend graphs for the last three years for selected incident types
  6. Discipline data broken out by gender and race
  7. Discipline data broke out by type and by school level
  8. Trend data for the last three years for suspensions and expulsions
